BROAD MUSEUM OF ART

This work is composed of candles and wire that were in a box of things that belongs to my parents - unlit candles intended to be used at some family event or celebration. I don't often plan out these sculptures the way I do a painting which gives me the freedom to be impulsive and let chance and accident take place. In the end the work is gestural in nature. The line of the wire is holding the two candles together, wrapped tightly, and yet the black line creates the energy of the piece.
